Description

The low-frequency electrostatic field generated by the device, which exists between the surface of the patient’s body and the hand of a medical worker (or the applicator) connected to opposite poles, when the electrodes are moved, contributes to the polarization of molecules in the tissues of the exposed zone. The resulting dipoles, due to a change in the polarity of the electric field, make oscillatory movements. Due to rhythmic contractions (fluctuations) with a particular frequency in the underlying layers of the skin, subcutaneous tissue and muscle fibers, the patient feels a certain vibration, the nature and intensity of which depends on the exposure parameters.

Electrostatic impulses initiate increased friction between different tissues, which elastically resist this influence during intervals between pulses. As mentioned above, the oscillatory process in the skin and subcutaneous tissue sequentially spreads to the underlying tissues, which provides a sufficiently large depth of therapeutic effect. Thus, according to some researchers, depending on the chosen mode, the penetration depth can be up to 8 cm. With adequately selected exposure parameters, this helps to restore elasticity and improve the functional state of tissues, as well as to strengthen local hemodynamics and microcirculation.

The vibration frequency (frequency of impulses) during the procedures (frequency of output bipolar impulses) gets preset in the apparatus and is in the range from 5 to 250 Hz

Currently, on the basis of numerous experimental clinical studies and based on the physical characteristics of low-frequency electrostatic therapy, it has been established that this method:

  • has analgesic and antispasmodic effects,
  • contributes to a significant reduction in swelling of tissues,
  • causes anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic effects,
  • enhances hemodynamics and microcirculation,
  • allows to improve lymph flow and tissue trophicity,
  • accelerates reparative regenerative processes,
  • increases tissue elasticity.
